The LSF, Inc. Scholarship is open to African-American high school seniors with a demonstrated and proven financial need who plan to attend an accredited college or university, have a grade point average of B (3.0) or better Whose academic records give evidence of scholarly achievement. Proof of enrollment in an accredited 2- or 4-year college or university. Please forward a copy of the admission and financial award letters sent by the school. Financial aid form (ex. FAFSA) and the Financial Student Aid Report should also be sent. (These documents may be requested to verify financial need prior to scholarship recipients being announced/awarded.) An unofficial copy of your transcript must be sent with the app. The student selection committee will request an official copy (school seal or authorized signature on transcript in a sealed envelope) if you are selected as a scholarship finalist. REQUIRED: Two typed, 500-word or less essays encompassing the topics listed in this application must be completed. (Note: Spelling, punctuation, and grammar are important.) The essay should include all extenuating circumstances that should be considered by the scholarship committee in assessing financial need.
